1. General
    1. The vacation year begins on the date of employment, and benefits accrue from that date. Vacation time may not be accrued beyond one year. The balance will roll over into vacation carryover. Employees have up to six months to use vacation time accrued during the preceding anniversary year. HR will zero out any unused hours at the end of the six months.
    2. There are times during the school year, such as the beginning and end of each semester, commencement exercises, and homecoming when department heads are authorized to restrict times when vacations may be taken to perform vital University functions.
